The 2015 Season will have its opening pitch on Friday May 8th.
The 2015 Executive looks the same as in 2014 - Cale, Clark and Rob will be leading the League. The 2014 / 2015 AGM was held at QB Sports bar on March 8th. About 20 members attended with 1 guest. If you are new Fastball, send us an email and we will get in touch with you. We are looking to grow our player base, which involves coaching younger players (or introducing older players) to our game. The season is about to begin and you need to register to play. You can register on-line (see 'Registration' tab in upper right hand corner of this website) or in person. The in-person registration dates will be set after the AGM on March 2nd, 2014.
If you are registering on-line, you can submit your payment via mail, with a check made out to 'BIMF'. The mailing address is on the registration page. Please send in your check immediately after submitting your on-line registration. Regardless if you pay by check or e-transfer, your payment must be received within 7 days of you submitting your form. Otherwise there is a $25 inconvenience fee that will need to be paid before you can play. You can also pay by e-transfer. Here is a quick walk through of an e-transfer.
Here is a link to the Kitchener Fastpitch League. There are links to all other fastpitch sites across Ontario, and then some. Great resource. Check it out. :)
Let us know if you have any changes you would like to see to the League for 2014.
Check below (about 4 posts) to see if your ideas have already been submitted. From Clark - BIMFL Treasurer...
Good afternoon. I was hoping to get this done earlier in November. Unfortunately the City meetings were held late this year compared to last year, not to mention I have been away on business most of November. The following will bring you up all up to date. On September 28th, 29th BIMF entered three teams in the Hamilton Rosedale Tournament. I am pleased to inform you the Blue team went undefeated defending Burlington's previous win by the Red team of 2012. It was nice to see the tournament expand this year with an additional 4 teams. October 4th returned all keys and submitted our reconciliation for the year and diamond requests. On October 9th met with Cale and Robert to discuss some ideas they had on marketing and tournaments for next year. We each took a project away to work on and will report ideas to all of you at the AGM. Between October 4th and November 16th have met with, contacted and/or e-mailed 10 other leagues and 4 other teams to discuss tournaments and exhibition games. I will bring the information to the AGM. October 29th attended at City Hall (6:30-9 pm) the City year end recreational parks and facility user meeting. I will bring a copy of those minutes to the AGM. This meeting was long but informative and resulted in a second meeting as group users asked to be invited to the finance meetings. One item I will touch upon. The recreational parks department put in a report to council in 2012 to put a freeze on increases for the next few years. Well that didn't happen so we asked why. City Councillor Jack D. on a lone quite night in council said we need revenue, and as such motioned to raise our rates again. With no representation in chamber to defend the motion he won. On November 21st attended at the new Haber facility (6:30-9 pm) The finance meeting regarding capital expenditures and improvement projects. I will bring a copy to the AGM. On November 22nd requested an update from the city to finish our report on our year end reconciliation statement and to inquire why we have not received our diamond user request forms for 2014. On November 25th I received confirmation it has been completed and I have booked an appointment next Thursday to review and compare there numbers and schedule dates. Once these reports are completed I will complete the financial statements for the AGM. Executive members, I suggest we set the AGM for a day or evening between Friday January 10th and Sunday the 18th. This should give the executive plenty of time as majority of the work for next year is done. Please feel free to provide any feedback. I direct you to the web site, Rob has space for this and items you want to address at the AGM. Take care gents and on behalf of the executive we look forward to a solid turnout at the AGM and for god sake's some more new blood with fresh ideas and please no cases of whineatitus. Regards, CT A group of BIMF All-stars traveled into Hamilton and showed some teams how we play ball in Burlington! Congratulations to all who participated! From Donna ...
Well this season is done. It has been an interesting to say the least, but with all the schedule changes, player movements, e-mails back and forth and bickering at the ball park, there was still the baseball. A lot went on this season, A LOT. When the ego's were checked, and the bickering had stopped and the games were being played it was a GREAT season. Red Team, Black Soxs, Orange and Blue you all in your own way made this year NEW! The same old issues came up but NEW idea's came forth. BLUE TEAM You brought the experience with Fever and Clark, your speed is uncanny with well, everyone else on the team. To have a team-mate permanently on the DL, Brian still has the wheels, and the name of the best sports injury physiotherapist. You are all competitive sports minded players on the field. And fun, washer box players after the game. Thank you to each player, fan, scorekeeper, and "phil in" you brought to this league, this year and hopefully next. BLACK TEAM I have to say in the beginning you were a broken team. Half of the team didn't return, you had a group of completely new faces to BIMF and if you combine their travel time, are the most travelled since Richard. Mark, Ernesto, Oz, and Oscar, thank you for making the drive and joining BIMF. You brought a style of your own and a respect for the game. La Tour thank you for recognizing a need for an up to date Website and taking that on, on your own. You have done a wonderful job on the site and kept a mature and fun outlook for outsiders to view BIMF. Keith you are a stand up man. You, I think, are the longest running Black team-mate. You have shown through the years how to adapt and grow in an ever changing league. You have become a stability in an unstably mix. All of the team has contributed one way or another. Thank you for being a part of BIMF2013 and hopefully part of the New BIMF2014 season. ORANGE TEAM Without all of you I don't think this season would of happened. Cale you were a leader with respect. The new faces were a welcome addition. The maturity shown on the field when the score was against you was a pleasure to see and showed me and maybe others that if you replace ego's with humility hard work will pay off. To make it to the finals as a rookie team is commendable. All of the team should be proud of the accomplishments made hope to see you all again next year, either as orange or with more friends to make more colours in the BIMF league. RED TEAM History didn't fully repeat itself. With team-mate changes, "phil in's" and other members coming out to play a game the season was played. With the adversities faced, Red shirts played ball. With the shortage of players due to changes, withdrawing from the League, and injuries the core of the team rallied and got by with a little help of their friends. You faced that cliff and climbed to the top. Congratulations on your play off Win in BIMF2013. "Everyone makes the play-offs but only one gets the trophy"-Anonymous To all the Teams thank you. Your contribution to BIMF is appreciated and hopefully your support in next year will be present. Ether it be as a player, helping with cost saving measures, and overall enjoyment of the league and Baseball. Thank you, Donna. Please post any improvements / changes you would like to see in the League for the 2014 season here.
